Keeping It "In the Family": Celebrating Our Hardworking Team at Environmental Pest Control

Performance for family dinner by David Petete

Here at Environmental Pest Control, we talk a lot about what it means to truly live out our motto: "We're here to serve." For a small, family-owned business like ours, that promise extends far beyond the perimeter of our customers' homes. It starts from within. We believe that to serve our community with excellence, we must first serve, support, and uplift the incredible employees who make it all possible.

With the summer heat cranking up and the busy season in full swing, our technician crew and office staff have been working around the clock. That is why we decided it was time to hit the brakes, cool off, and bring everyone together for a special employee and family appreciation dinner.

A Night of Incredible Hospitality at Hilton Garden Inn Lawton

We hosted our family gathering at the Hilton Garden Inn Lawton-Fort Sill. To say the service was wonderful and the food was delicious would be an understatement. The staff truly went above and beyond to make our families feel right at home, allowing our team to fully unwind.

Beyond being a top-tier venue for local businesses like ours, the Hilton Garden Inn Lawton-Fort Sill is a cornerstone of the Lawton community. They consistently invest in the area by hosting essential civic events—ranging from the annual Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce State of Education Luncheon to safety awareness workshops like the Victims Impact Panel of Oklahoma. They even give back directly through furniture and resource donations to local organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Gathering in a space that cares so deeply about people made the evening feel even more aligned with our own values.

Big Laughs and Good Music with David Petete

No family dinner is complete without great entertainment, and we were treated to an absolute masterclass in comedy and music by the hilarious David Petete. Known for his sharp wit and family-friendly comedic music, Petete has built a fantastic history of entertaining audiences with relatable humor and catchy melodies.

He had the entire room laughing, performing some of his popular tunes like "Just a Kidney Stone" and "Rogaine", and balanced it all out with some soulful, nostalgic tracks. If you have not heard his work yet, we highly recommend pulling up David Petete on Spotify—his tracks like “I Like Big Books” and “I Don’t Wanna Sit Near You” from his fan-favorite release The off White Album are the perfect remedy for a long, hot summer day.

The Power of Coming Together

Ultimately, the best part of the night was a total toss-up between the incredible food and the continuous laughs. But what truly resonated with us was the spirit of unity. In a fast-paced world—and during an intense pest control season—taking the time to gather as a family reinforces why we do what we do.

We are incredibly grateful for our staff, their supportive families, our local community partners, and the wonderful neighbors who trust us with their homes every single day. We look forward to many more years of keeping it in the family!
